When we talked to Emily Amick about her new book this week (Democracy in Retrograde - on sale now!), she mentioned “the exhausted majority.” She’s right that politics can be so disheartening and, well, exhausting that it’s tempting to tune out.
But if we do that, we hand over our power to extremists. Their voices are loud and they’ve been filling the airwaves with hate and lies. The only way we can counteract them is to have more conversations: with our friends, family, neighbors, and local elected officials. We are the majority, exhausted as we may be, and if we keep talking, it will make a difference.
Whether you’re passionate about reproductive freedom, speed bumps, or anything in between, you have the power to make real change. All you have to do is start a conversation.
