Joy as Resistance

A post-election episode with Jess McIntosh

Yesterday was hard. Today will be hard too.

But on Wednesday afternoon we decided to record an episode of the podcast anyway, because there’s power in talking with one another. We were joined by political strategist Jess McIntosh, one of our favorite guests and honorary Suburban Women Problem family member. Jess explained what we know, what we don’t know, and where we go from here.

One thing we do know is that the last time this happened, in 2016, we didn’t have this community. We were all sitting alone in our own homes, paralyzed with fear and grief. This time we have infrastructure already built and supportive relationships already in place.

Whatever you’re feeling is fine. If you’re anything like us, you’re feeling a lot. But this time, we’re all feeling it together.

Thanks for reading The Suburban Women Problem! Let’s keep growing this community of resistance.
