New Abortion Pill Suit Wants to Force More Teenagers to Get Pregnant
The SWP Take: The new mifepristone lawsuit claims that mifepristone is suppressing teen birth rates, which injures plaintiff states by depriving said states of population increases. What?! Are they saying that women (especially teen girls) are vessels to be filled to meet the baby quota? This is insane. Vote y’all. Our rights are on the ballot.
Texas county labels Native American history book a work of fiction, sparking outrage
The SWP Take: If you feel outraged by censorship efforts like these (as you should!) it’s important to make your voices are heard by supporting candidates who support the freedom to read, especially in local elections. Speak out against censorship and attacks on the freedom to read at school board and local government meetings.
Advocacy group challenges Ohio after Christian schools receive state funding
The SWP Take: “The separation of church and state guaranteed in our Constitution means that we each get to decide if, when and how to engage with religion. This protects both taxpayers’ religious freedom and the sanctity of religion,” Rachel Laser, president and CEO of Americans United, said. “By forcing taxpayers to fund the buildings of private religious schools, Ohio is obliterating that promise of religious freedom.” Yep, that sums it up. And if Trump gets back into office we will definitely see more of this. It’s in Project 2025. Instead of supporting public education, the plan would divert public money to private and religious school attendance.
Thanks for always being on the alert for yet another example of what this election is really about - democracy. A minority - and they are a minority - wants to take America back 100 years. Not happening. There are so many amazing people working so hard to keep that idea of true American freedom alive. Only two weeks left. It's going to be great.
