VP Choice Reflects on Trump’s vs Harris’s Vision for America’s Kids
The SWP Take: It’s clear to see, the Harris/Walz campaign is fighting for all children to have access to a public school education. VP Candidate Tim Walz spent much of a his career as a public school teacher, football coach and advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. He’s a member of a teacher’s union and will continue to fight for public education.
Our own staff member, Renee Sekel is quoted in the article talking about Walz's record as "a dream of what a candidate should be on public education." Her three teenagers, one of whom is nonbinary, attend or went to public school. She wants to vote for a candidate who's willing to invest in education that's available to everyone, including her own children. We couldn’t agree more, Renee!
JD Vance Says he’s “Pro-Family.” Many Women Say the Economy Isn’t
The SWP Take: We’re tired of politicians saying they are pro-family, but not supporting policies that benefit the average American family. Suburban women know the current economy isn’t working for a lot of families. More and more people are choosing to delay having children because of a lack of financial stability. That’s why we want elected leaders who will prioritize an economy that will work for all families with policies like free child care, paid family leave, access to affordable housing, and more. If you want to learn more about an economy that supports all families, whether you have two cats or five kids, check out our Momonomics campaign.
How Abortion Bans are changing prenatal care in Blue States
The SWP Take: It’s no surprise that abortion bans are affecting prenatal care all across the United States. We hear stories of women almost dying because they are denied care in states with abortion bans. But thousands of women are also traveling to safer states for their prenatal care, putting immense burdens on the system. We’re fighting for a world where all people can get the access they need to safe reliable reproductive healthcare, no matter where they live.
