We Need Better Family Support Solutions

Kim shares her story about being part of the sandwich generation
1

Kim Barbaro is balancing young kids and aging parents under one roof. Her story highlights why we need better family support solutions like paid family leave and union protections.

The National Women’s Law Center and Action Fund recently rolled out a 2024 National Guide for Care Infrastructure and Economic Security that would strengthen women’s economic security and honor caregiving as the backbone of our economy.

This is what’s on the 2024 Care Policy Agenda:

  1. Invest in Child Care for Children and Early Educators.

  2. Ensure Access to Aging and Disability Care.

  3. Guarantee Paid Family and Medical Leave.

  4. Expand Economic Support for Families.

  5. Strengthen Tax Credit for Families.

  6. Tax the Rich.

  7. Raise the Minimum Wage to At Least $17/Hour.

  8. Close the Wage Gap.

We all want to do what’s best for our families, and to ensure that our loved ones receive the care that they need. It's time to elect leaders who prioritize real family values.
